CELL PHONES, DISNEYLAND, AND MY SAVIOR

The last time I was in Disneyland was August 2011. In my opinion, that was much too long ago, but that has nothing to do with my post today. We arrived at the park as early as possible, and ran in when they opened main street straight to Indiana Jones - a ride that usually has very long lines. After an exhilarating first ride, we made plans to head to the Haunted Mansion. After climbing through the tunnels, we finally made it to sunlight, and I went to grab my phone to check if my cousin had responded to me ( we were going to meet up later in the park). I panicked as I couldn't find my phone in any of my pockets. My friend kindly accompanied me back to the ride to try to find my phone. I had lost all hope. I wasn't going to see my cousin. I would have to buy a new phone. I didn't know what I would do for the rest of the trip. The usual First World Panic.

We approached the ride operator, explained my problem, told her the seat I was sitting in, and asked her to check. We prepared to wait as she searched all of the cars coming through one by one. The first car pulled up, she checked my seat, and PULLED OUT MY PHONE.

I had never experienced such a sense of relief. A miracle had just occurred before my eyes. A real miracle.

Today, a teacher a church asked me what my reaction would be if I had been there to see the miracle of the resurrected Christ. And I can imagine it would be like my experience in Disneyland, only greater. Sweeter Peace. Wondrous Relief. Unbelievable Sense of Safety. Eternal Hope. I can only imagine, but imagining is wonderful.

Once again, Disneyland proves it is more than just a place.
